January 30, 2008 - It's been One Year Already!

Hello all...its been 2 months since my last entry..I am happy to say I have seen most of you lovely family members over the Christmas holidays, which were fun and went by too quickly, as usual.

Ocean Reef at New Year's with the Kosh's was super fun...a great way to ring in the new year!

Its nice to be back in London...for one thing the weather is warmer than Connecticut - no ice or snow storms, just rain every third day...but daytime temps in the 40's and 50's.

Recent moments - in random order:

Megan's class had My First Museum Tour Field trip last week and I went along to help...the Wallace Collection did a wonderful job of letting the girls touch some pieces of armour from their collection, and then they sketched some art work. Very hands on and just the right amount of time for the girls to enjoy and not be bored.Rachel's class had a gymnastic demonstration, it was fun to see how graceful and flexible these girls are at their age...and so poised. The demo ended with an Evil Kenevil dive and roll competition where 6 girls laid down to be dived over...too fun!

Rachel and Lauren have come down with the flu this month. Rachel missed three days last week and Lauren is home on day 2 today - she is feeling better and hopes to go back to school tomorrow - me too!

I have had some fun with a new friends Cynthia - her husband and she own a few restaurants in Notting Hill, and a bunch of us mom's went for dinner and drinks last Sunday night - it was a Mexican meets vegetarian/organic dinner - who was drinking margaritas, pomegranate martini's, Coronas (me)...I had a lot of laughs with this new friend - American girl who has been here almost 20 years and needs to be reminded of her American roots occasionally - we have a good time.

Speaking of organic, Lauren and I got smoothies a little while ago, and ordered a wheat grass shot - so disgusting, its warm and tastes like dirt and grass..now I think I am going to be ill - my body isn't used to all those healthy nutrients...There was a lovely 6 foot tall blond woman who ordered one, so I said I would try it if I could look like her when I was done...doesn't seem to be working its magic on me...

We had a fox in our back yard the other morning - he was passing through on his way to the park????? It was cool and scary all at the same time.

Bob is in Germany - I think that is where Dusseldorf is - and is headed to the Superbowl with Dom Scarno this weekend - Go Giants!! Watch for him at half time, he says he is going to streak for us - Professor Whitehead!!
I can't believe this European adventure just passed the one year mark. I do feel like we have a fun life here, we all have made some nice friends, we love our neighborhood and all that it brings us, restaurants, movies, shops we visit daily. We love the school, the parks and Bob loves his runs to Big Ben and the Tower of London. Its not the same, and Sundays are tough for me, but we are happy here and glad of the experience.

Love you all....
Amy
