March 7 2007..

Hello all.

Hope you are all well..we returned to London with our happy glowing tans and felt great...the weather here has been warm and not too rainy..no complaints. The first few days back I could not get the girls up and to school on time..the jet lag was tough..it took us a full week to finally be tired at the proper bedtime and wake up with no alarm.

Last week I attended my first meeting of the Kensington Chelsea Woman's Club..the meeting was nice and there are several activites that I signed up for, tours, art shows, etc.. but met no one and it reminded me of 1992 when I went to a meeting of the Weston Young Woman's League..but I am MUCH older now and will try again at the next meeting next month.

While I was there I found a great shopping area - Chelsea. Had some fun wandering around and doing some shopping. (Relax Bob, only a pair of jeans)

Over the weekend we went to a fun restauant with tables you have to climb up to that are almost on the ceiling..delicious food - Buona Serra at the Jam..highly recommend with children but not with the elderly.

We also explored the London Aquarium on Sunday which was very nice..a bit like a crowded Maritime Aquarium, located near the London Eye.

I have had a super week with the girls...Monday Rachel's class had a field trip to the Science Museum..I went along on the trip and really enjoyed meeting Rachel's friends, see her interact with the girls and meet some very nice mom's along the way.

One mom reminds me so much of my friend Cynthia..ones passion for music is matched by anothers passion for homeopathy healing..interesting topic that she is very knowledgable about. She has introduced Rachel to essences that she hopes Rachel will respond to and aid her with her self esteem. Rachel seems to think they are working and I do see her old strong self re surfacing slowly.

Today was the Lower Schools Speach Competition...each class sent 4 representives to recite a speach (from the Bible, Shakespeare, TS Elliot, etc) and then one girl per grade was awarded a prize. Then each class performed as a group and one prize was awarded - to Rachel's class who beat out the 5th graders who were excellent as well. I was so impressed not only with the content of the speeches of course, but the poise and self esteem these girls showed, as well as a bit of showmanship to close the deal. AWSOME!!

This school is the highlight of this experience here, I am sure of it.

I briefly saw Lauren as she headed off to a lacrosse game with her class. She is doing well, happy and working hard - she is in a contest with another classmate to see who can get the best grades..can you believe this is the same Lauren - Dad remember all those Thursday night study sessions I made you come for, and Brenda, all the tutors..anyway, she has found a groove here that makes her proud of herself...at the age of 12..priceless.

After the Speech Competition I took Megan to the Science Museum and we had some fun exploring the motion room full of hands on activities for small children. It was loads of fun and two hours flew by. I love hearing so many languages around all the time and the diversity of cultures is very interesting.

Grammy Stef was hospitalized with dehydration from medication last week, but appears to be on the mend. Keep up the good work Grammy.

Well it is time to pick Rachel up at school...all for now..Love you all...
