February 8th - Bob goes down..
Well our first medical issue...Bob broke his ankle yesterday going for a run.
We had a few inches of snow..maybe 1-2 inches, and Bob went out for his run and landed on his ankle funny and heard a Pop..he hobbled to a passing bus who brought him most of the way home, then limped up the hill and when he arrived home he had an ankle as swollen as a Sunkist 0range...we iced it and then got him to the local hospital.
Two hours of paperwork, doctor registration - (oops, when I registered the girls last week with the doctor in fear of Scarlett Fever I did not register him)..then doctor referral to hospital - oops..faxes not working, out of paper..then hospital paperwork with our insurance company..oh, no you are not Bupa, you are Bupa international, that is another number..finally to an x ray, wait an hour to get the x ray read, where do we get crutches, oh, its a break, you need a cast...
He hobbled out on crutches with a ski boot removable cast 5 hours later..a bit grumpy but not in pain. Off to the office then a dinner..He slept ok and is in no pain..yeah..off to work on the crutches.
So as usual, not an easy event but once all the paperwork was sorted out they took wonderful care of him and he is in no pain, just a bit unsteady.
I met with Lauren's teachers last night..eight teachers in 75 minutes..like speed dating..the bell rings and you all shift tables to meet the next teacher...the reports were very positive.."she is adjusting well, she is a good girl in class, well behaved, listens, is completing her homework". One teacher said she was very keen and I had to ask for a definition to be sure I knew if it was praise or derogatory. (it means bright Jenn)
I am very proud of the transition she has made. We are in for one month and she has done marvelously...good job Lolo!!
She is off to a slumber party tonight..we will miss her, but wish her well.
All for now..I am heading up to pick up Megan from school..I actually drove all of them to school this morning in the lady bird..with no incident. I was so proud of myself.
