Summer 2009 Wrap Up

We had a super summer in Madison...here are the highlights before I forget:

Joanne

I have reconnected with one of my oldest friendships...I enjoyed spending time with her at Lenny and Joe's at her house and with her family for Chris' graduation and hunting for seaglass and relaxing WITHOUT her crack berry in Madison. I am sure we will stay in touch better now.

Parker and Sarah

My fave cousin Parker and his lovely family came up for a visit from VA...a great dinner was very enlightening to his character (and his wife's devotion) and spending time tubing and beaching was great.

Martha's Vineyard

We spent 4 great days on the stunning island of Martha's Vineyard with good friends Skip and Karen Finley. They took us to Chappaquiddick (where we saw a lovely garden and picnic'ed on a pristine beach), to State Breach (where we swam and the girls jumped off a bridge). Dinner in Oak Bluffs followed by comedy by Lenny Claaark, a glorious dinner at Aria where the food was perfection and the service even better and a trip to the Gay Head Light House.

We stayed in the Kelley House in Edgartown in a perfect 2 bedroom condo overlooking the Chappy Ferry and harbor..a 1 minute walk to anything. Great vacation in a vacation.

Riding camp and lessons

Girls rode at least once, often twice a week and Megan seems to have a natural talent and relaxed way with the horses. Rachel had 2 weeks of riding camp and LOVED it.

The MG was super fun to ride and will spend the winter getting in even better shape (under the hood)...it was the best present my darling hubby could have "surprised" me with...thanks Bob you do spoil me!

On the final weekend, Ramsay got sprayed by a skunk in front of me...a can of tomato, a bottle of Listerine, two bottles of vinegar, he (and the house) are still a bit whiffy. Poor dear

We headed home Sept 3rd to London and Mimi and Papa arrive in a few days for a visit.

Nothing better than burgers on the grill, beers while the sun sets, Venus star gazing, family in every nook and cranny and love in abundance. We have been so blessed as a family, with love, health and lots of laughs.
