OMG - An MGB!!

My darling hubby tried to surprise me with an MG for our 18th (how can we be so old?) anniversary. However, darling that he is, not so tech savvy - left the receipt for it in my printer queue, so next time I printed something, there is was...Anyway...

The most darling 1971 red MGB convertible arrived from St Louis this week. Of course it was delivered while we were at dinner at the Madison Beach Club with neighbors the Langilles, and when we returned, we fumbled about in the dark pushing buttons, pressing levers and trying to get her going...drove around the block a few times (sorry neighbors - she is a bit loud at 11:30) and the next morning was like Christmas morning in the light of day examining every inch and driving her up and down Neck Rd!!

She is amazing, so cute and shiny.. Tough to drive with no power steering or breaks. Good for my upper arms. No texting and driving in this car.

On Sunday I took her for a countryside spin to bond. Stopped at a roadside farm stand, ate some blueberries - priceless.

Thanks sweetie. This has been my dream car since I was 14...I am in heaven. You have made all my dreams come true - this is just one more to add to the list of how well you spoil me. I am humbled by the abundance of my blessings.

We had the second annual SHA reunion here this weekend. Sue, Michelle, Linda and Alberta came and we enjoyed a fun evening of food, fire and memories.

Summer is in full swing. Riding lessons 3 times a week, swimming and bike riding. Lauren is a car sitter and baby sitter and then races out to spend her money as quick as she can earn it :)

Love Madison in the summer!!
