Snow cripples London

So you may or may not have read that London was hit with the largest snow storm in 19 years..we received about 6-8 inches of snow overnight and Monday morning the city came to a grinding halt..no bus service, no tubes..and no school anywhere..

I went out to get milk in the morning and the silence of the city was surreal..no traffic, no planes..and you know how snow seems to absorb any sound...it was amazing.

Its now Tuesday morning and I still have not seen one snow plow..people are shoveling out with the strangest things..I saw one man using his garden hose to get rid of the snow on his steps by melting it with water.  One guy was using a large piece of cardboard.  Most were using their gardening shovels.

The spirit in the city is very child like and friendly.

The girls were thrilled to have a day off and enjoyed watching movies, playing Club Penguin and playing in the back garden.

On Sunday, prior to the snow starting, Lauren was invited to go on a hike in the countryside with her friend Violet and her family..she had a nice time.

All is well here...Bob was in New York and then at the World Economic Summit in Davos last week (very cool and he really enjoyed it).

I am working through the 300 boxes, probably 60% through...more arrive tomorrow...

I saw the movie Slumdog Millionaire yesterday, anyone seen it yet?...great film, but not all rainbows and butterflies.

Love from London
