Friday October 19th
Hello all..greetings from London.
The weather here is fall-like - nippy but bright sunshine. Leaves here have slowly started to change colors and drop. Miss New England in Fall though..pumpkins are hard to find and the ones I found were very small...mums were all shriveled..not good..Halloween isn't a big holiday here and no one here has seen candy corn - big hit on the playground.
Bob and the girls survived (thrived perhaps) without me last weekend..birthday parties and videos were the norm, but we were all happy to see each other Monday. This week was a blur of jet lagged mornings *can not wake up, can not get to sleep* and starting to furnish the house at #73..fun but much harder from 3000 miles away on the internet. School flew by this week.
Bob has been in the US all week, so I haven't seen him since last Wednesday night...I do miss his grumpy self. He returns tomorrow morning...
The girls are off from school next week for a fall break. We have been invited to two friends homes in the countryside..looking forward to taking the Mini out of the city for a road trip to see the English Countryside..should be fun.
Then on Thursday we are heading to St Petersburg Russia for some site seeing. Ever since my first Danielle Steele novel, I have always been enchanted by the history and glory of this city of the tsars...can't wait to see all these amazing palaces, gardens and museums that much of the English monarchs modeled their palaces after...the girls are not as excited, but I think we will have a good time...hope the weather isn't too chilly...part of me wonders if we shouldn't have made a quick run to Ocean Reef...patience....
Lauren and I helped at Megan's swimming lesson today - so cute - to see these little almost 5 year olds learning to swim...precious. Lauren was a big hit with the little girls..."what are those silver things on your teeth" (braces), I love your boots, your hair is pretty, Are you one of the Cheetah Girls (pop girl band)..too funny..
Did I post this picture before? If so, sorry, but worth repeating!
