Happy Birthday Rachel
Well, we survived Rachel's birthday party. All but 2 of Rachel's 22 classmates (plus her teacher Mrs T. plus 6 siblings, two of Lauren's friends and ONE mom) joined Bob and I for a viewing of HAIRSPRAY...fantastic movie - girls really liked it - teacher and siblings too..then we all walked home - quite a site - for pizza and cake. One little girl asked me if we were going to play party games, like pass the package or Wee Willy Winky - I said, sure - why don't you lead them. Well, one involves a package wrapped up in over 25 layers of wrapping paper, each layer with a sweet for the one who unwraps, then a gift at the bottom for the final person lucky enough to be the last to unwrap. Well, since I didn't have 25 peices of wrapping paper or sweets we needed to move on.
The girls sang a lovely birthday song to Rachel followed by a rousing "Hip Hip Horray" too cute. I will try to post it if I can figure out how.
Anyway - we had a nice day, then after tidying up snuggled into my bed for a little tv and off to bed.
Bob is excited to watch the Giants tonight - I hope we get it here.
Weather has been nice - sunny ish and in the high 60's. No fall colors at all, it will be interesting to see if we get a color change before they drop.
Oh, last week I met the lovely woman who we rented our previous house from. She came over with a latte - I think I told you. Anyway, I was walking to the bank and she insisted I come to lunch - well she had guests and a wonderful lunch and I was so happy to be included - she has very nice friends and the food was super. But how odd to be sitting at my/her kitchen table eating off her plates and looking at her decorations in my/her kitchen. Has anyone ever expereienced that? It was a bit dream like/twilight zone ish. She is great, and I hope we see more of each other - oh, it sounds like I have a crush.
I was a little sad having a birthday party without all of you...it was odd and I missed you all so much. We have had 13 years of September birthdays together - this year will seem odd. I was thinking of you all this morning and the usual fun time we have celebrating the girls birthdays.
Off to bed...love you
Amy
