Friday September 9th...Girls back to school

Happy Friday to you all...things are moving along, it feels like a snails pace, but moving forward. The girls all started school yesterday, Megan was adorable in her school uniform, Rachel dreaded it a bit, and Lauren went full on excitement. At pick up, Megan was all smiles and looks forward to going again, Lauren is excited that she has chemistry, biology and physics, a well as lacrosse and ballet, and Rachel was happy to have her own desk and sit next to her friend Anna.

Bob was kind enough to postpone a trip to Brussels to stay with us last night, and we all slept like logs - although Bob and I are yet to sleep in our room - can't find the blankets yet.

We say goodbye to 2 Phillimore today, she was a lovely home and we will always remember fondly our short stay there.

I received lots of good feedback on Emily's low cost airfare offer..we love visitors and can't wait for you to come!!

Cindy - thinking of you and hope today is better than the past two.

Monte Carlo- Casino Royale- Yachts, Casinos, shopping, Royalty and wealth    oMG this city had some serious high rollers! Yachts, insane cars and shopping for the Uber wealthy.  Bob and I joined the morning walking tour, saw the Prince’s Palace, enjoyed the splendid views from a seaside park on the bluff and then went back to the boat to change for the Casino Royale!!    Well, sadly I didn’t bring my passport so no entry for me- Bob popped in while I browsed the shops.  $100 poorer in 45 minutes we grabbed an outside table at the Hotel du Paris in the square and people watched and I was introduced to my new favorite drink- the Chandon Spring spritz. Coming to a Stef party near you. Casino! Hotel du Paris with Casino in background Headed back…can you see out ship behind us? So great we were able to see the city at night!  Scrabble followed by a little community puzzle work…

The Cruise- - Saturday- Sete France

Off to the Chateau… Bonjour!  A stop in France would not be complete without a tour of a local chateau and wine tasting  Sweet Muscat wine is very well regarded here so when in France…. Then off we went to charming city of Montpelier Part of the Roman pilgrimage of the San Camino trail (bucket list) Headed back to the boat for lunch and a quick nap!!

The Cruise- Thursday- Corsica

 After a rough night at sea we slept thru our 8 am tour and woke almost at noon.  Hopped off the ship and grabbed a quick lunch in the port area at a lovely French restaurant (mole et frites and lasagna) before  boarding next to a massive Virgin cruise ship for a 2:30 departure.   Sorry Napoleon-  we missed seeing your birthplace  We continued the scrabble tournament (5-4. Amy) and then to reading on the back of the ship under a blanket as we steamed thru the beautiful Med passing lovely islands and enjoying a little tea and cake.  Room service and movie Otto and in bed by 9:30!    Quiet day!  Sadly no photos.  Xo
