So much to share..where to begin...
Lots of friends came to town this week. New and old. We saw more of Brenda and Eloise and had such a fabulous visit..shopping in Covent Garden, the BEST tour of the Shakespea
rs Globe Theatre - a must see for visitors, a tour of the Churchill War Room - very interesting to see how he ran WWII underground for a few years...elegent Tea at Kensington Palace, where we ran into a GFA alumni with his singing group from U of Rochester who sang for us (fantastic and talented and very cute) outside the palace..excellent day!! See website: www.midnightramblers.org
Cute young men who sing...Rachel was in heaven when they sang to her...I believe the word is swooning.
Saturday night was finished with a bottle of screw top wine, friends on sitting on the floor and children playing nicely...wonderful time, many warm memories..thank you Brenda, Lisa, Steve and Bob.
Maureen, Aine and Thea came to see us on Friday and she really helped me sort out some feelings I have been having...nice to have friends who give you a kick in the ass when you need one..thank you Maureen. Aine brought Rachel a charming booklet made by her classmates with notes and warm wishes, it made her feel terrific and missed. We miss you 2W!!
Bob and Lauren enjoyed the morning at Portobello Market and vowed it a weekly event.
Sunday was family day...we went to church then off to Oxford on the train...but the train was out of service so instead we went to see Big Ben and ride the London Eye..it was raining but just as we crossed over the Thames the sun came out and our ride was sunny and bright - perfect! Bob and Lauren went off to the Churchill War Museam and I brought Rachel and Meg home.
Its Mother's Day here today...lucky me. Happy Day to all you wonderful mother's out there.
Ian sent us some cute photos and videos of Jackson the cat at Grammy and Grampy's - he looks so happy and well loved..thank you for that nice treat!
I feel stronger from the woman who passed through this week..thank you for your friendship, words of wisdom and kick in the pants.
Come and visit...I promise to stock up on wine with a cork...even though it flowed just as well without one...lesson learned...
