Saturday Jan 13th - We move into 2 Phillimore Place
(2 Phillimore Place)
Whew...what a busy family we have been since last Wednesday..let's recap:
Wednesday
Said goodbye to the lovely and convenient Hotel and met the movers..4 cute chaps (one that looked very much like cousin Corbin..I showed him a photo from my wedding to confirm the likeness and then then next three days were filled with familiar references)
By Wed night we had most of the items delivered, but alas, no beds. We made due and had our first nights sleep in our House...I was awakened at 2am by some girl on the street screaming at her beau, calling him "You little Fuc*&*er"..she yelled it about 10 times then I heard the police siren and all was quiet. No one in my family woke up.
Thursday was unpacking boxes and the boys were gone by 2pm. One of the chaps proclaimed the floors to be uneven and said it made the furniture "a bit wonky"..I have not stopped laughing about that..we now say everything seems a bit wonky. Then on Friday we found a Wonka candy bar when moving a bed..too funny. (Guess you had to be there).
Friday was brutal..the remaining stuff, all the beds, bedroom furniture and contents. The boys "unpacked" - meaning opened the boxes and dumped everything on the beds and left by 3:00...I called Bob in a panic to come home.
Bob and I met with Lauren's teacher to see how she is getting along and the report was very positive. She is making friends and fitting in nicely. She had a visit with her friend this afternoon and enjoyed herself.
Rachel is doing well and had her first playdate on Friday after school with Sienna.
So now its Saturday..more unpacking, finding the floor again, seeing a light at the end of the chunnel. Megan sleeping in her own bed (hasn't done that since the Spring of 2005) and all is well.
As you can see I got the internet hooked up..it comes with an internet phone and I can call the US for only 1pence a minute..no more cell phone calls for me...
We went out to dinner at a nice Italian restaurant tonight. Family owned and a wonderful family, we will bring you when you come. Back to the house to watch Grease 2..I want a COOOOOLLLL rider..a coooolll rider, no ordinary boy is gonna do,I want a rider that's cool." thought of you Cindy..I still remembered all the words to the songs and I thinks its been 15 years since you used to watch it non stop.
"Let's do it for our country, your country wants us to..and your mother don't even have to know"..classic American film.
Kisses to Josh and Emily, hang in there during this busy and stressful time...It will all be worth it soon. Wish I was there to help.
Happy 50th Anniversary to The Duxbury's and Schlicks..no better place than Tanque Verde Ranch..enjoy..Love to you all...Hope your trip was safe and sound Mimi and Papa.
I am sure there is more, but I am sleepy and so going to say goodnight..there is a party going on outside the window somewhere..hope they aren't up too late..I need all the beauty rest I can get at this age..oh god they just starting singing..it may be a late night..the little f&^^&&ers.
Love you all.
This is the area in Surrey (Royal Botanical Gardens) where Lauren's friend lives..charming homes with lovely homes.
