January 29th

We bid a sad farewell to Mimi this morning at 6:00 am. It was sad to see her go, we had a very nice visit and the time went by too quickly.
Rachel had a field trip to the Shakespeare Globe Theatre today. She saw actors auditioning for the play Much ado about Nothing, and then they got to act out an audition as well. On the bus ride home she saw Little Ben, a small replica of its bigger brother bell.

After dropping Megan at preschool I toured Kensington Palace, the birthplace of Queen Victoria and then the home to Lady Diana.
Even dormant the gardens were lovely, I can only imagine what they will look like in the Spring.
There is an exhibition of candid Lady Diana photographs at the palace as well as very interesting history and artifacts, as this palace was widely used as the Royal Palace from William and Mary's day in the 1600's until present day. Very modest as far as palaces go, but a very nice tour.
The Kensington Palace is in our neighborhood and I have learned that Lady Diana was frequently spotted in some of our new favorite places (Sticky Fingers and Patisserie Parisian where Megan and I go for cafe au laits and chocolate croissants every few days) See link with map..we pass every day to catch the bus for L&R and the tube for Megan...Her death is still felt here by many..sieze the day.http://www.kensington-chelsea.com/Walk.htm
Off to walk along the antique shops and Foreign Embassies on Kensington Church Street then time to pick up the girls and home for homework.Spoke to Papa, he was in Alligator Alley heading to Miami to get Mimi. She was due to land around 7:30 pm my time..a 13.5 hour day, poor Mimi..love you.
