January 23rd - a weekend in Paris with Mimi

At dusk they turned the lights on the Eiffel Tower, and at first they glitter like diamonds, then they go solid..amazingly lovely to see..what a treat.
The next day we had an amazing breakfast of French pastries and cafe au laits, then off to see the Eiffel Tower up close. We went up to the second level to enjoy the views, but the crowds and very cold temps and high winds kept us from rising to the top.
We tripped off to the Louvre to warm up, and enjoyed a few hours before it was time to head to Charles de Gaulle airport for our flight home.
We need more time to see more, and next time I hope Megan feels better and more up to the adventure...there is always Paris in the Spring..how does that go..we will always have Paris in the spring...I was hoping to run into Carrie and Big, but no sign of them. Mimi is aware of the British Air strike and is working on changing her flights. Thanks for the heads up. I have seen Nick Perricone many times now here in Europe, at Harrods and Peter Jones in London and also I ran into him at a gift shop at the Louvre..boy he gets around. It's fun to see his photos and remember warm summer days at the beach with children and dogs. I do miss my Lucky (and Sparky too)! Josh and Emily - Good Luck in your new home...We think about you all the time and Mimi feels so bad about the mix up with her tickets and not being able to be able to help you with the move. She is consoled by the fact that your parents are with you, but still wishes she can be with you today (and last week). Best of luck in your new home, and may it bring you years of love and happiness. Sorry to hear about all the trips to your doctors yesterday Cindy...hope all are feeling better soon. Jenn - it must have been nice to have some company at 23 Chapel Hill Road for a few days.
Hello Stef's - we are happy Grammy and Grampy have agreed to come to Miami in February for a Spring Break..it will be nice to see Grammy out on a lawn chair in the sun again!! I will make sure she puts on her sunscreen!! Hopefully, Bob and Grampy will make time for some golf. Sorry to hear that Deb's not coming...good luck with Kate and the school search and we look forward to seeing you all at Easter!!
Mimi took a quick nap still a bit jet-lagged and Rachel stayed home from school with a sore throat so I am off to pick up Lauren from school in an hour. Love to you all....
