Postcards from London - Sunday December 31st

Hello Friends and Family

My brother Josh recommended I start a blog, I think he was getting tired of me filling his email box with my long daily letters on the minutia of our daily London adventures. So here goes.

Welcome to Amy's Postcards from London

We tried our best to wake up at 8:00 to get to the 10am family mass at the Church of the Divine something or orther....wait..its Our Lady of Victories. This is the church right at the end of the street..one of 5 in our neighborhood. Missed the 10, opted out of the 11:15 Latin mass then made the 12:45, which was just ending...it started at noon (under the Christmas schedule). Anyway, it seems nice, more on that next week when we are on time.

The church history is very interesting, as it dates back to the 11th century, went underground until 1794 then was bombed during WW2 and rebuilt. It right off the Ken High Street so its entrance is between two shops. If you are interested in more history, etc, click here:

Then we went off to the Natural History Museum to ice skate, but it was sold out for today. We picked up tickets for tommorrow and enjoyed the wonderful exhibits for a few hours. Lots of hands on stuff about the human body as well as mammals and the land..very nice place for kids. Spent almost 2 hours and saw maybe 20%, all for free.

Then we emerged and surprise..it was pouring..again!! Made it back to the hotel after a bit more shopping along the way. (Too many sales for Lauren to pass by without a quick look)

Megan and Bob napped and so its room service here for New Year's. Maybe to the bar for a drink at midnight.

I wish you all a happy and joyous 2007, and hope you will all come for a visit soon.
Miss you all.
Amy

In my own defense, i was *not* tired of the emails. To the contrary I enjoyed them. I just thought that "Postcards from London" sounded like a great blog name. Plus you can post lots of pictures and links and other cool stuff that you can't with an email. So congrats on the new blog. We love it and look forward to reading it regularly.

All our love - J&E
Hi Amy,
Thanks for keeping me updated. I like the emails. I like the blog, too. I like the pictures. I'm glad you're having a good time. Eloise wants to know how Lauren is. Things are fairly tame around here....warm weather, no snow and lots of free time. First night is happening in Westport and right now the fireworks are going off.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Brenda
