I Love Miami!!!

Well we had the most sunny and relaxing vacation a family could want..We met Grammy and Grammpy Stef at JFK airport last Friday night, had a horrendously long wait for the flight and our bags, but opened the front door at the house at Ocean Reef at 3:30 am...cripes...but we left our troubles at the door and all enjoyed some nice r&r...the only stress of the day was deciding where to have dinner.
Saturday and Sunday were cool but we managed to enjoy ourselves in spite of the weather.

Wednesday we said a sad so long to Grammy and Grampy and then a hello to Mimi, Papa, Jenn, Nana and Grand Papa.

The weather started to warm up on Tuesday, we went deep sea fishing on Thursday and Papa and I reeled in a sailfish each...they have a catch and release policy so you will have to take our word for it...it was SOOO big,and so beautiful..it took about 15 minutes of reeling in, then the fish takes out more line..then reeling in again while the captain backs up the boat slowly...hard work and quite the adreniline rush....

Bob, GrandPapa and my dad also each caught dolphin fish (mahi mahi not flipper) and a King Mackeral..lovely colorful fish that Captain Richard cleaned and we had grilled for lunch with a cold beer...amazing day..can not wait to do that again..we also had a huge turtle follow the boat for a while..so amazing...I have some great video if Ican figure out how to import to the blog I will show the highlights...

We caught our own bait first with nets - well the first mate did that, we watched.

Enjoyed a relaxing boat tour around the reef and saw some dolphins - flipper this time - so lovely.

It was sad not to stay in out own home but the house we rented was better able to accomadate us all and had a nice pool..even though we spent most of the time at the club pool by the beach..and the cocktail waitresses with the umbrella drinks...:)

We left Miami at 6am this morning and have a 8 hour layover at JFK..Bob took Lolo to Manhattan in search of Abercrombie and other American fashion...he wants to see if his book is at Barnes and Noble in NYC...

No good stories to share..very uneventful...saw our friends the Kempners and our attorney from Westport..they seemed to have a nice visit and the girls enjoyed seeing each other.

I will post some photos of the trip at some point....

Love from JFK..
Amy
