The Cruise Saturday- Amalfi

A lovely city on the sea A relaxed day eating and strolling

The Cruise - Friday- Sardinia

I have two words to describe Sardinia: graffiti and purple trees.  Both found in abundance in the gritty ancient port town of Calglieri.  Great coffee tho

The Cruise- Thursday- Corsica

After a rough night at sea we slept thru our 8 am tour and woke almost at noon.  Hopped off the ship and grabbed a quick lunch in the port area at a lovely French restaurant (mole et frites and lasagna) before  boarding next to a massive Virgin cruise ship for a 2:30 departure.   Sorry Napoleon-  we missed seeing your birthplace  We continued the scrabble tournament (5-4. Amy) and then to reading on the back of the ship under a blanket as we steamed thru the beautiful Med passing lovely islands and enjoying a little tea and cake.  Room service and movie Otto and in bed by 9:30!    Quiet day!  Sadly no photos.  Xo

The Cruise- Wednesday- Pisa!

The city of Pisa!

The cruise - Tuesday- Florence

Image
Our ship docked in the busy port city of Lavorno for two days so we could see the sites in Florence and Pisa.    Super crowded. Unable to access the Uffuizi  I enjoyed a nice lunch of meatballs and salad at Trattoria Gina  just on the (quieter) side of the Arno  on my way to see the Pitti Palace

The Cruise- Monday- St Tropez

Image
Welcome to sunny splendid StTropez by the sea-   Made famous by Bridget Bardo in her 1960 film   She and many other famous people call St Tropez home and I can see why  - charming old alleys and shops mixed among cafe and the water is everywhere   So amazing  these photos do not do it justice    Met a sweet young couple at this cafe from Greenwich  (voted for Bob)  on their 2nd wedding anniversary   Youngest people we have spoken to in a while haha! Came off the ship on to tinders today   A but bumpy but a lovely little trip  Then a rough and late night at sea.
